Please tell me I'm not the only person who is literally counting down the days 'til the new season of The Bachelorette premieres in May? OMG. I totally can't wait. I guess I'm just a little bit over-the-top excited to watch Emily Maynard take the driver's seat this time around and have her pick of 25 lucky dudes. She's going to be the best Bachelorette ever -- even though people are already giving her grief about doing the show, going so far as to call her a gold-digger. (Back off haters!)
Emily initially wasn't too keen on the idea of looking for love on TV after her relationship with Brad Womack went sour. (Can you blame her?) But even though she thinks she's a bit of a hypocrite for changing her mind -- she's doing the show for all the right reasons.
First of all, she wants to fall in love and have a happy ending. Since when is that such a crime? So what if she wants to try and find a groom on TV. Plenty of people meet online and all other sorts of nontraditional ways and nobody gives them a hard time, so Emily shouldn't be criticized either.

Second, producers were willing to work with her and filmed a lot of the show in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, so that she wouldn't have to be away from her daughter, Ricki, for too long. When she first said she didn't want to be the Bachelorette, she probably had her daughter in the forefront of her mind. Being away from her was tough enough while she was on The Bachelor, so I doubt she warmed up to the idea of being separated from her again. Taping the show in Charlotte eliminated that obstacle.
I rooted for Emily during Brad's season, and I'll definitely be cheering her on again this time around. She deserves all the happiness in the world -- and I have a good gut feeling that she's going to find lasting love this time around.
Take a look at the video clip below to see former Bachelorettes Ali Fedotowsky and Ashley Hebert give Emily a bit of advice for the show.

First of all, if people think Emily is a gold digger, they don't know much about her background and her family. Second of all, there's nothing different in meeting someone online and meeting them on tv. TV takes a whole lot more "guts". I am wishing Emily the very best and just HOPE that she meets a GOOD man and not someone on the show just for publicity.
I can't wait to see Emily's show. I think the world of her. If she is doing this for money and fame, all the more power to her...may she take it for all it's worth. I do hope that she finds true love because we all deserve that in our lives. I praise God everyday that I'm finally back with my true love, and would want anyone to have it.
I rooted for Emily from the word go and will continue to do so!!
