Kirk Cameron Is Even More Self-Righteous and Bigoted Than We Thought (VIDEO)

Rant 123

kirk cameronColor me disgusted. I thought I lost all respect for Kirk Cameron back when the newly born-again sitcom star had a big moral hissy fit about his co-star Julie McCullough's past as a Playboy centerfold and got her fired from Growing Pains. But after the incredibly offensive, self-righteous comments Cameron made to Piers Morgan last night, I somehow lost even more respect for him. His respect account is overdrawn, let's put it that way.

Look, it's not like I was surprised to hear the former Mike Seaver say he doesn't support gay marriage. Not after the whole Playboy thing. But what he said about homosexuality in general was shockingly intolerant, even for him. Cameron told Morgan:

"I think that it's ... unnatural. I think that it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

Yeah. He really said that. Out loud and everything.

Honestly, there are so many things wrong with Cameron's statement I don't even know where to start. Like, I'm starting to wonder if maybe there was some sort of accident at some point, like a serious head trauma kind of thing, that made him go completely frickin' insane. Tell you the truth, I almost hope that's the case, because if he's not brain damaged, then there's no excuse.

The folks at GLAAD were predictably horrified by Cameron's words (they said he "sounds even more dated than his 1980's TV character," HA!) and plan on making sure the news/entertainment industries are made very aware of his homophobic views.

With any luck, their efforts will completely destroy the pathetic remains of Cameron's once-booming career.

After watching this clip, how do you feel about Kirk Cameron?

This is NOT my opinion.  Mr. Cameron is absolutely correct.  He is just repeating what God has said in the Bible.  Your argument is with God, not Mr. Cameron.  Now, go ahead and tell HIM he's a BIGOT and SELF_RIGHTEOUS.

So you think he's wrong huh? Well, I think homosexuality is unnatural....The parts don't go together first of all! And second it just strikes me as wrong....go ahead GLAAD let me have it because I'm a Bible believing Christian.  I will say this, you can have your beleifs and still be tolerant.  You will not find me gay bashing or bullying a gay person. Jesus today would be in the bars and visiting in prisons and showing people God's love. You wouldn't see Him bashing these people!!

ok so you don't agree with his statement, but isn't he entitled to have his own opinion? you have yours... am i right?

Now in society, you have to agree with what the majority says, or you're a bigot or close minded. If he's not pushing his religion or saying gays will go to hell, then why attack him? He's just saying what he feels, but in current society, you have to agree that you have to accept everything, or else you're some whack job that's a part of a cult or something.

I think he is very brave to stand up for what he believs in, and I 100% agree with him.  I do not hate those who are homosexuals, just as I do not hate people who have sex outside of marriage... I just happen to think that both of those things are sins.  Those are my beliefs and I'll be darned if people try to take my right to believe those things away from me by calling me a bigot and crying Politically Incorrect.

So his career should be destroyed because of his beliefs? Are we not allowed to have any? I thought it was a sad day when Miss California lost her crown after the outrage that poured because of her honest opinion that Perez Hilton asked for. Looks like that was just the beginning....

It is kind of interesting to me that the people who don't support gay rights are wrong and bigots....but when supporters slam nonsupporters it's ok because they are more in tilted for some reason.

Is it not ok just to have an voice our personal opinions....you know freedom of speech and living in America and all that good stuff.

I think calling him intolerant, as you fail to be tolerant of him takes the "hypocrisy" cake for the day. I get it, we'll just pick and choose who deserves an opinion.

IF this isn't the pot calling the kettle black... So glad you are so tolerant of other people's beliefs/views/opinions.  tsk tsk
