The Teen Mom 2 finale special with Dr. Drew involved the usual amount of tears, anger, frustration, and drama. Barbara and Jenelle seem to be the smoothest of the bunch, even finding some loving things to say about one another. But the other three were all fighting over the same thing -- cheating.
It's the issue that is clearly at the forefront of teenage relationships. And with good reason. Simply put: these kids are too young to be in these situations. Kailyn should be confused at her age, and the love triangle with Jo and Jordan is developmentally appropriate. The problem, of course, is that there is a baby involved.
Kailyn isn't the only one who was dealing with cheating and part two of the Dr. Drew special revealed just how much cheating is going on between Chelsea and Adam and, most heartbreakingly, between Leah and Corey.
Undoubtedly, the biggest heartbreak in an already very sad season of Teen Mom 2 was the Leah and Corey divorce. Watching these two divide up their belongings and move into a new phase of life was beyond depressing. But perhaps nothing was sadder than the fights they claim broke them up.
Corey was "too tired" to have sex because he has a JOB and twins. Meanwhile Leah felt unloved and unattractive by his exhaustion. Well, here's a memo: It's called marriage, people. Grow up.

I feel for Leah and Corey, but I also think -- as someone who has been in an 11-year relationship that is still going strong -- that marriage and long-term love are both hard. You have to work sometimes to face one another and talk when you don't want to. For Corey, this means sometimes having sex and cuddling when you are tired. For Leah, this means not cheating when she is scared, but using that energy to talk to her husband.
The fact is, cheating is the sign of an immature person who doesn't know how to openly and honestly communicate with their spouse, so they choose to go outside the marriage. That can be fixed by teaching the person how to be in a good marriage. Counseling can help and doing the hard work if really looking at one another honestly.
Leah and Corey gave up too soon. Anyone (including Dr. Drew) could see there was some good stuff there. There was love, there was support. The cheating was bad and there is no excuse for it, but there are more important things, and judging from Leah's tears, my guess is she cares enough to fix what she has done wrong.
The fact is, if they were a decade older, their marriage might have lasted. There are things more mature people know how to handle. It's very, very sad for the girls and for everyone, really.

Yes they do make me sad. As you said, they need to grow up. I hope they find happiness after all of this turmoil.
Some people just lack morals, plain and simple.
It was sad, but if they were a decade older things still could have gone the same way. Hell, that would be true even if they had been married a decade longer. Sure, cheating is a wrong thing to do and is a sign of marriage issues that need to be addressed. However, the circumstances surrounding their divorce are neither unusual nor unique to young persons. I've seen people married for 25 years who ended up divorced because a lack of intimacy made one party feel unloved or unwanted and someone ended up cheating.
It's heartbreaking because even given the infidelity they still could have worked through things IMO. (of course, we don't see everything so maybe they really did try to work through their issues) That's how their age contributed to the problem - they were able to use it as an excuse to justify why they shouldn't be together.
They simply need to grow up and proably faster then some of their peers.
