There are loads of people rooting for the new Jennifer Aniston movie Wanderlust, debuting in theaters nationwide today. I'm one of them. How could I not be? I always want good for my girl Jen. With Paul Rudd and her handsome real-life boyfriend Justin Theroux by her side on the big screen, it's got to be a totally solid watch, right?
Well, let's hope so. Directed by David Wain, Wanderlust follows Rudd and Aniston, a stressed out Manhattan couple, as they move to Atlanta and attempt to embrace a different lifestyle. It sounds funny (sort of), but what do the critics think? Check out the Wanderlust reviews, here:
Alynda Wheat, People Magazine:
Insipid, tedious, and lacking in common sense, Wanderlust has nothing to offer a discerning viewer. But hey, Jennifer Aniston got a boyfriend from this ridiculous enterprise, so that's something positive right?
Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News:
There was so much potential in this project, from concept to cast. Alas, it seems Aniston still hasn’t found the movie that will finally elevate her professional accomplishments over her personal ones.
Christy Lemire, Associated Press:
Your expectations are crucial here. If you're looking for structure, cohesion, and narrative drive, you'll be frustrated and maybe even a little bored. If you can be as open-minded as the drugged-up denizens of Elysium, then it's all good, brother.
Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly:
It's a pleasure to see Aniston thrive in her comedy zone, secure in the knowledge that for every inch of propriety she's willing to cede, Paul Rudd is ready to get 10 times as crazy for a grateful nation.

Seems like the critics are iffy on this one. Alynda has a point. I've been highly entertained by this whole Aniston/Theroux romance the last few months. So hey -- if the movie bombs, at least I have it to thank for my Aniston gossip fix! Check out the Wanderlust trailer, here:
