'Wanderlust' Reviews Aren't as Hot as Jennifer Aniston's New Boyfriend (VIDEO)

Flicks 25

Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd star in 'Wanderlust'There are loads of people rooting for the new Jennifer Aniston movie Wanderlust, debuting in theaters nationwide today. I'm one of them. How could I not be? I always want good for my girl Jen. With Paul Rudd and her handsome real-life boyfriend Justin Theroux by her side on the big screen, it's got to be a totally solid watch, right?

Well, let's hope so. Directed by David Wain, Wanderlust follows Rudd and Aniston, a stressed out Manhattan couple, as they move to Atlanta and attempt to embrace a different lifestyle. It sounds funny (sort of), but what do the critics think? Check out the Wanderlust reviews, here:

Alynda Wheat, People Magazine:

Insipid, tedious, and lacking in common sense, Wanderlust has nothing to offer a discerning viewer. But hey, Jennifer Aniston got a boyfriend from this ridiculous enterprise, so that's something positive right?

Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News:

There was so much potential in this project, from concept to cast. Alas, it seems Aniston still hasn’t found the movie that will finally elevate her professional accomplishments over her personal ones.

Christy Lemire, Associated Press:

Your expectations are crucial here. If you're looking for structure, cohesion, and narrative drive, you'll be frustrated and maybe even a little bored. If you can be as open-minded as the drugged-up denizens of Elysium, then it's all good, brother.

Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly:

It's a pleasure to see Aniston thrive in her comedy zone, secure in the knowledge that for every inch of propriety she's willing to cede, Paul Rudd is ready to get 10 times as crazy for a grateful nation.

More from The Stir: ‘Wanderlust’ Might Actually Be a Jennifer Aniston Movie Worth Seeing (VIDEO)

Seems like the critics are iffy on this one. Alynda has a point. I've been highly entertained by this whole Aniston/Theroux romance the last few months. So hey -- if the movie bombs, at least I have it to thank for my Aniston gossip fix! Check out the Wanderlust trailer, here:

Are you planning on seeing Wanderlust?

wow, I got stuck with the Wanderlust review of FB, I cannot delete it must take more drastic measures. I knew this, Jennifer Aniston PR is like the f_ck_ing KGB. I can get rid of Angelinas movie trailer easy. Shows you the work Jen makes her PR people go through to actually harass people to like her. I clicked on her movie, (personal site) and can't get rid of it. Good thing I know cpu's or I would end up spending $ for nothing.

I think it is obvious that Jennifer can not carry a film on her own. She has shown that she needs a high profile male comedian to help bring in the audience.

not sure why AJ is mentioned she has nothing to do with JA BO success or failure.

I will see the movie because I love Jen. She's not as talented as Angelina, I admit but she's by far a nicer person. She's the 'girl next door', pretty and sexy in a way that is non-threatening to other women. Angie says, "I have few female friends." I'm sure- ever wonder why? One word- b----.
I hope Jen and Justin wind up together and it would be the ultimate if one day they presented an award at the Oscars together, hand in hand, with Angie and Brad present.
We love you J- and are always rooting for your happiness!
