'Wanderlust' Reviews Aren't as Hot as Jennifer Aniston's New Boyfriend (VIDEO)

Flicks 25

Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd star in 'Wanderlust'There are loads of people rooting for the new Jennifer Aniston movie Wanderlust, debuting in theaters nationwide today. I'm one of them. How could I not be? I always want good for my girl Jen. With Paul Rudd and her handsome real-life boyfriend Justin Theroux by her side on the big screen, it's got to be a totally solid watch, right?

Well, let's hope so. Directed by David Wain, Wanderlust follows Rudd and Aniston, a stressed out Manhattan couple, as they move to Atlanta and attempt to embrace a different lifestyle. It sounds funny (sort of), but what do the critics think? Check out the Wanderlust reviews, here:

Alynda Wheat, People Magazine:

Insipid, tedious, and lacking in common sense, Wanderlust has nothing to offer a discerning viewer. But hey, Jennifer Aniston got a boyfriend from this ridiculous enterprise, so that's something positive right?

Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News:

There was so much potential in this project, from concept to cast. Alas, it seems Aniston still hasn’t found the movie that will finally elevate her professional accomplishments over her personal ones.

Christy Lemire, Associated Press:

Your expectations are crucial here. If you're looking for structure, cohesion, and narrative drive, you'll be frustrated and maybe even a little bored. If you can be as open-minded as the drugged-up denizens of Elysium, then it's all good, brother.

Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly:

It's a pleasure to see Aniston thrive in her comedy zone, secure in the knowledge that for every inch of propriety she's willing to cede, Paul Rudd is ready to get 10 times as crazy for a grateful nation.

More from The Stir: ‘Wanderlust’ Might Actually Be a Jennifer Aniston Movie Worth Seeing (VIDEO)

Seems like the critics are iffy on this one. Alynda has a point. I've been highly entertained by this whole Aniston/Theroux romance the last few months. So hey -- if the movie bombs, at least I have it to thank for my Aniston gossip fix! Check out the Wanderlust trailer, here:

Are you planning on seeing Wanderlust?

I honestly still wonder why critics are paid to tell people what to like when the net allows for so much more with the every-day person being able to post about movies they see. I trust critics now as much as I do our local weatherman.

I like Jennifer Anniston a lot, I mean really a lot, but she has never made a really good movie, IMHO.

Great... Greatdays

I've learned not to trust the critics but, after seeing the trailer for this movie, I have to think they are right.  However, I will see it because Jennifer and Paul Rudd are in it.  I avoid any movie starring Angelina.

Mmm I love Paul Rudd! I thought this looked cute and funny. Is it going to be the best movie I've ever seen? Probably not. Will it entertain me? Probably, and that's why I watch movies.

I never listen to critics. There's no point. Reviews are just opinions. I almost always disagree with them anyway.

I'll probably rent it but I don't see myself seeing it in theaters. I also usually find, that when a movie gets bad reviews, I end up liking the movie.

I do like Jennifer Aniston too - but she hasn't proved herself much since her FRIENDS days are over. I will say though, that I did really like "Just Go With It" - that was her best movie in a LONNNNNG time. However, this movie looks stupid.

Experience has taught me that if the critics don't like it, I will.  The Bounty Hunter with Gerard Butler and Marley & Me with Owen Wilson have been my favorite movies with Jennifer so far.

But I probably won't see Wanderlust.  Hippie, druggie communal living has never interested me in the least.

Have loved Paul Rudd since "Clueless", though!
