bret michaelsFull disclosure: I could recite the lyrics to "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" in my sleep. In fact, I probably have recited the lyrics to "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" in my sleep. Bret Michaels was a BIG DEAL when I was a mere girl in stonewashed jeans with little zippers at the bottom of the legs. So what if all the guys I knew rolled their eyes whenever a Poison song came on the radio? To quote Jim Morrison, "The men don't know/But the little girls understand."

Anyway, if somebody told my younger hairsprayed self that someday, Bret Michaels would be teaming up with Loretta Lynn to do a remake of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," I would've been all, Shyeah, right. And monkeys might fly out of my butt. (That was another early '90s reference, young people.)

But now that I'm past the jeans with zipper legs phase, I'm ... well, quite frankly I'm still a bit perplexed by the pairing. Still, since this unlikely duo is daring to make musical magic, I'm gonna go ahead and say I smell a trend ...

The Hair Metal-Nashville Duet! A little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll ... a lot awesome. Possible combinations include:

1. Vince Neil and Tammy Wynette. Obviously these two would remake the classic Motley Crue tune "Kickstart My Heart." Obviously.

2. Sebastian Bach and Dolly Parton. The song? Skid Row anthem "Youth Gone Wild." Hands down.

3. Dee Snider and Wynonna Judd. Tell me you can't already hear Judd belting out Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It." (You can tell me, but I won't believe you!)
