Friday Night Light fans, raise your East Dillon pennants in the air and wave them like you just don't care, because do I have some good news for you. According to director Peter Berg, the script for Friday Night Lights the movie is thisclose to being done. Eep! That sound you're hearing is all the FNL fans across the nation turning up their Expolisions in the Sky CDs right now and rocking out to what is surely the best news we've received since Kyle Chandler won that Emmy. The movie can't be that far off now that the script's almost done.
But wait, there's more. Berg told MTV News that the movie will center around Coach and Tami and that writer Jason Katims created a story line that will somewhat mirror the true-life rise and fall of Texas Tech coach Mike Leach. Also? Taylor Kitch wants in.
Producers wouldn't deny him that, would they? They wouldn't. They couldn't. No one says no to number 33.
Anyway, as Berg points out, it's critical that Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton sign on since the movie is about them, but I have no doubt in my mind that Coach and Tami will reunite for this. Don't they know how badly fans want this? Don't they know that without an FNL movie to look forward to, our days are a little darker, our grass is a little browner, and our Alamo Freezes are a little meltier?
I don't know what else Kyle's doing now that the show ended, but Connie can take a break from American Horror Story long enough to reprise the role that made everyone want to be a beautiful high school principal with a quick wit and a heart made out of gold, who's married to a high school football coach in suburban Texas.
And since Berg says the script is almost done, let me offer my two cents concerning what I'd like to see in the flick. First of all, I do not want to see a Tyra and Riggs wedding. There is zero part of me that wants to know that Riggs is "settled" down. Also, Lyla's super annoying, so keep her at Vanderbilt or wherever you shipped her off to. And finally, clear eyes, full hearts, more Buddy. The more Buddy Garrity, the better.
What would you like to see happen in the FNL movie?

^^^ Exactly what I was thinking. So what they wanna do is make a movie about a TV show that was based on a movie??
MegTheGem: LOL... but really wouldn't it be a movie about a TV show, that was based on a movie that was based on a book based on real life?
LOL what nonsense!
There is a movie - but it was a diff set of charachters/storyline. This would more be a movie as a follow up to a tv series that was based on a book (same as Sex and the City).
I can't wait!!!!!!
I would like to see how Tammy is going with being more focused on her career (again) and how Coach is finding football away from the Texas backdrop.
Also, agree DO NOT want to see Riggins 'settled'
I loved this show and I would definitely watch the movie.
don't watch
I agree anything with Riggins in it ....I am going to watch!!!
