In the past, Dancing With the Stars has hit it out of the park when they have gone political. Think Bristol Palin and her massive success a couple seasons ago on the show. Whether you loved her or hated her, her presence brought the ratings to ABC.
Sadly for us, it looks like former GOP presidential candidates Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann will NOT be on the show this season even though ABC had expressed an interest in them. Of course that does not preclude other political types from dancing.
So who would the fans like to see? Here are my 7 picks for political figures I would most like to see shake a tail feather:
- Arnold Schwarzenegger: He was the governor of California and he could use a little image reshaping right now after his "love child" fiasco last year and his high profile marriage separation. Personally, I would love to see him shake it on stage. Would he be terrible? Yes. But wouldn't it be a blast to watch?
- Jesse Ventura: This guy has some moves. He was a wrestler before he was the Minnesota governor and besides, he is just funny and entertaining. It would make good TV.
- Sarah Palin: I would pay good money to see this and my guess is she would be really good, too. She has a natural athletic ability and is a fast runner and in great shape. I am sure she would not do it, but I would love to see it.
- Michelle Obama: This will never happen, but the First Lady would be AWESOME on DWTS. We have seen her dance on YouTube enough to know she has moves and fitness is clearly a huge priority in her life.
- Bill Clinton: If there is a sexier politician, I can't think of one. Billy C. has moves and rhythm and he could rock this show.
- Howard Dean: This former Democratic presidential hopeful has frenetic energy and crazy passion. He would be awesome (and wacky and fun) on DWTS.
- Newt Gingrich: If he gets tired of running for president, Gingrich would make a hilarious addition to the show. Bonus points: He could make his partner his new wife!

Scott Brown. He's dreamy.
I like your list lol..
Interesting
I'd love to see Michelle Obama do it, she would do great.
I put the word "for" in between "too" and "that" twice, and it STILL didn't show up, lol.
That's an interesting list. I wouldn't want to see Bill Clinton there though.
The list is funny.. would be a hoot
I like your list. Jimmy Carter! Yeah!
