'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Recap: Things Get Ridiculous

23

Kandi BurrussOkay, there's really no need to talk about anything that happened on tonight's episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta except, OMG, the stripper at Kandi Burruss's 35th birthday party. Seriously, OMG is about all my brain can process right now after that performance. He was Ridickulous -- both because that's his actual stage name (note the extra "k"), and because his performance was beyond ridiculous. I'm still sitting here with my mouth open at what he did with his mouth in front of all of those people.

To borrow a phrase from Phaedra Parks, it was "as crazy as a vampire in sunlight." If you didn't watch and are the sort that gets easily offended or embarrassed, you may not want to even keep reading.

You knew it was going to be bad when Phaedra started hinting about her gift to Kandi, saying things like it was "something that could only be made in nature." We'd heard about her client, the stripper who can, uh, pleasure himself with his own mouth last season, and tonight, everyone saw him do it ... right there at the party, right after he swung his penis this way and that then stuck it in Kandi's drink

It was outrageous, uncomfortable, and totally over the line of decency by a mile -- both on the part of Phaedra for presenting this "gift" and Bravo for letting it all unravel as it did. It was just too much. I'm not easily offended and am usually pretty much an anything-goes type of gal when it comes to Housewives, but not this.

Of course, things were blurred, and we didn't actually see it happen, but people's reactions were so animated, it almost felt like we did. Just knowing it was happening was bad enough -- like mental porn. NeNe and Cynthia were so offended that they stormed out, but that was likely at least in part to make Phaedra look bad. Oh, and NeNe had a problem with him doing it in front of people wearing designer duds (her getting crazier and crazier is a topic to be visited at another time).

The truly awful part, however, was Kandi's poor mother. Usually chill, laid-back, and ready to talk dirty with the best of them, she was utterly uncomfortable and offended -- and understandably so. "That's f*cked up, excuse me," she said.

Then she hightailed it out of there as well. Kandi couldn't understand what the big deal was and followed her out to the car.

"You should have had more respect for me," her mother told her. "This wasn’t the place for that. That wasn’t cool."

No, no it wasn't.

Do you think Bravo went too far with the stripper on tonight's episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta? Would you be angry if someone gave you a "gift" like that?

It was too much, but if Kandi's mom was so offended, she should have left as SOON as he did something she didn't like. She sure took her time leaving, and it that's the NUMBER ONE reason you DON'T party with your damn parents. Sorry Kandi, you know I love you. <3

Quite frankly it was repulsive and for phaedra to get kandi a gift such as that shows what kind of woman she is. Very nasty. Why would she have a stripper who sucks his own self be there? And she says she's christian. A carnal one, yes!! Nene and cynthia did good by leaving

hotrd... hotrdumommy

My mouth is still wide open from that performance. I'm as open as the next one but there is a time and place for everything and in a public place is not right. I never cared for Phaedra because she is phony. She puts on a facade of being the ultimate southern belle, but she should have known better. What if Kandi brought something like that to her birthday party with her mama there. She wouldn't like it very much would she.

The only thing I felt that was inappropriate was that it was a co-ed party, and that really was not the place for that. And because it was a co-ed party, Pheadra should have put a limitation on what stripper should do...all that dippin his thing in her drink, and the self-head thing was totally not for that setting. Im quite sure that part had some of kandi's underage cousins in there, because some of them females looked as if they never seen a penis before. And to that comment about Kandi doing that Pheadra, with her mom present... those are too totally different relationships; Im quite sure Pheadra and her mom do not sit up and have dirty-sex talk or even party together like kandy and her mom do, which in turn made pheadra comfortable in that department... but other than that PHEADRA, I LOVED YOUR GIFT!....

PHEADRA, I LOVED YOUR GIFT!

Why would anyone that had an ounce of class think this is appropriate in any setting? There is a difference between a birthday stripper and live porn. And It doesn't matter what you are wearing. ( NeNe I like you but girl you need to think before you open your mouth and say stupid shi*.) SMH

All of these women need to get over themselves!

I think all these women need to get over themselves!

I am always surprised when someone makes the "these ladies have no class". Really? While Kandi is nice/sincere and relatively normal, the remaining "housewives" simply are on a TV show and evidently have a little bit of money. If it weren't for divorce settlements and income from the show, most people would shun this group of women like they had a contagious rash! Money and reality TV fame does not change a person from trailor trash to princess, it only changes their address, the cars they drive and the clothes they wear. They are still the awful people they were before. They are showcased for their entertainment and shock value, not their intellect or social skills..........

Kandi loved her gift, how can Nane be a hater when she also was a striper. Cynthia please open your eyes and stop being a sugar mama.
