Although it's only been a couple of days since we learned that Kim Kardashian was throwing in the towel on her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, and filing for divorce, you're already probably sick to death of hearing about the whole thing. But that hasn't stopped Kim herself from taking to her personal blog to share her side of the story. Whether you like it or not, you know you're intrigued to hear what she has to say for herself.
She denies that she got hitched for the profits ("I married for love," she writes) and says her marriage was NOT a sham (she's a "hopeless romantic," after all). No, instead, it seems like Kim has nothing but reality TV to blame for her $10 million mistake.
She explained in her blog post:
I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed in to something too soon. I believed in love and the dream of what I wanted so badly. I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have. I got caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn’t know how to and didn’t want to disappoint a lot of people.
Who do you think created that roller coaster? That hoopla? The cameras that have been following Kim around ever since she released that sex tape. The reality show contracts and public life she's signed her soul away to. It's glaringly clear now that she's in so deep, she doesn't even know where her reality TV life ends and her real life begins. Living your life on TV has to have a slew of negative consequences, but the scariest must be forgetting what's actually real and what's not. Finding yourself "acting" for the cameras ... and off.
Totally crazy, right? But becoming a household name has come at a cost for Kim, and now, we can all see what that was. She thought following a script and playing to the cameras would make her fairy tale come true. When you think about it, that's really sad and slightly twisted (mostly because I wonder how much pressure she's under from momager Kris Jenner to keep up with the 24/7/365 charade). Sheesh, Kim probably could use therapy, but beyond that, maybe she should see what happened here as a GREAT BIG sign that it's time to cut the cord from TV and start "keeping up" with her reality.
Do you think Kim's life has been hijacked by reality TV?
