The Queens of Comedy, nominees Tina Fey, Martha Plimpton,
Melissa McCarthy, Amy Poehler, Edie Falco, and Laura Linney

Just like every other Emmy awards show of my entire life, the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards had an uber-long intro with some moments of funny, several snoozy sketches, songs that went on way too long, and tons of wonderful, notable moments. This year, we had all the Emmy must-haves, including the best dressed, the fashion fails (Gwyneth Paltrow, Cher and 1986 called and they want their dress back), big award sweeps (Modern Family), awkward moments (brought to you by Charlie Sheen), surprise wins (Kyle Chandler), surprise laughs (Amy Poehler and her sisters in comedy), and lovely acceptance speeches (lots of good ones!).

We've put together our five favorite moments from the Emmy Awards. Take a peek!

1. The Modern Family Quintuple Win

Within the first hour of the Emmy Awards, Modern Family scored four Comedy wins in the categories of Writing, Directing, Supporting Actress (Julie Bowen), and Supporting Actor (Ty Burrell). Then MoFam closed out the awards show with their win for Best Comedy Series. So well deserved! That show is funny as hell, and there's nothing on the air like it.

2. Charlie Sheen's Weird "Apology"

Continuing with his latest sane act, Charlie Sheen, right before presenting an award, delivered a very heartfelt-seeming "apology" of sorts. He said, presumably to the cast and crew behind Two and a Half Men, "From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together, and I know you will continue to make great television." Whoever's in charge of his meds -- you finally got 'em right! Don't change a thing.

3. Queens of Comedy Stage Rush

By far my favorite moment of the show was during the Outstanding Comedy Actress award presentation. Amy Poehler's name was the first of the nominees to be read, and in Poehler's usual hilarious way, she jubilantly jumped onto the stage rather than smile and nod from her seat like a typical nominee. And then it got better. As each subsequent funny lady's name was called, including Tina Fey (30 Rock), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Laura Linney (The Big C), Martha Plimpton (Raising Hope), and Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly), the nominees joined Poehler on stage in a giant Queens of Comedy pow-wow full of feigned winner's joy and creating a brilliant stage wall of Female Comedy Power. Ultimately, the win went to McCarthy, but this whole presentation just went to show us how all-around awesome Women in Comedy have become.

4. Kyle Chandler for the Win!

Oh, Kyle Chandler, as if it's not enough to watch you stand upon a stage in that beautiful, loyal, masculine, heartfelt way that you just are, but then you also finally won the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Emmy for your role as Coach Taylor on Friday Night Lights (sorry, Jon Hamm of Mad Men and Steve Buscemi of Boardwalk Empire). Nothing like the final hour! Thankfully, Chandler stumbled through his acceptance in shock and didn't give the infamous "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose!" business up there, or I'd have totally lost it.

5. Kate Winslet's Shout-Out to Moms!

When Kate Winslet scored her Emmy for Mildred Pierce, she also delivered the night's best "Ode to Mom" acceptance speech. Winslet said, "Mildred Pierce was capable of great acts of love as a mother, but she was an extraordinary multitasker. And to that end, I actually do have to share this with my mum. It doesn't matter how old you are or what you do with your life, you never stop needing your mum. And I'll never stop needing mine. So thanks, mum."

Totally agree with your favorite moment! LOVED when they crowned Melissa McCarthy - winner - and gave her a bouquet of flowers.

I didnt watch the Emmy's, but I have been watching the highlights, nd by far, my favorite part is when they all the women came up for best comedy.  I laugh everytime I watch it, because of Tina Fey and AMy Poehler.  They were sooooo funny
