As if the seemingly baseless tabloid rumor and subsequent media frenzy about Will and Jada Smith's marriage wasn't bad enough, today's post from MediaTakeOut on Christina Aguilera may just be the most vicious gossip I've ever seen published about a celebrity.
According to the website, Christina's 3-year-old son's bruised face is likely an indication that his alcoholic mom has been beating the crap out of him.
Man, and you thought you had some horror stories about enduring obnoxious parental judgment.
The site posted a photo of Christina's son Max sporting a nasty-looking black eye, and included the following text:
Normally we would just chalk this up to a CLUMSY KID. But the word on the street is that Christina has a DRINKING PROBLEM ... so who knows WHAT could have happened. Someone needs to look into this ...
I'm not sure what's up with their RANDOM CAPITALIZATION, but this sure sounds like a BUNCH OF BULLSHIT and also maybe a LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
While MediaTakeOut was busy speculating how a preschool-aged child may possibly have sustained such an injury, since everyone knows little kids are in full command of their motor skills and almost never hurt themselves—hang on a second, just gotta run a Band-Aid out to my son, who scraped half the skin off his knee while I was typing that last sentence—a friend of Aguilera has provided a little more backstory to Max's SHOCKING FACIAL DAMAGE.
Namely, that he was chasing some squirrels in a park when he tripped and fell.
You know, I'm in the business of covering entertainment news, and I don't always find it easy to determine where my personal lines should be when it comes to talking about celebrities. I often come down on the side of believing that anyone who chooses to live in the public eye must have made peace with having their lives discussed by the masses—but insinuating that a mother is abusing her child is way, WAY beyond the pale. I really don't know how someone can publish that kind of crap, no matter how many extra readers they may have attracted with such a slanderous statement.
It seems like every now and then a big-name celebrity gets pissed enough to sue a tabloid for deliberately spreading lies about them, and then all the more outrageous gossip rags sort of dial it back for a bit. I'm pretty sure MediaTakeOut has precisely zero millions of dollars to pay out in a settlement, but I'd like to see Christina Aguilera take their sorry, badly-designed ass to court for this one. Or at the very least, force them to apologize for the article—and pay any of the advertising revenue they received to a charity that helps kids who are actually abused.
Are you as disgusted by this gossip site as I am?

kids have accidents. the media is terrible.
whom ever wrote the thing about her abuseing her son should be sued
They crossed the line here....big time. I've been under scrutiny like this. I was at the store with my daughter when she was 2 years old. I had just taken her out of my ford probe when she tried to run off into the store. SHe smacked her eye on the side mirror & of course, it blackened. Next thing I know, my neighbors, who I never talked to, call CPS on me because of the black eye. It was very eye opening about how judgemental people can be and how willing they can be to destroy other people's lives for the sake of stirring the pot.
My daughter bruises her legs.. A LOT! If you look at her legs, you would think I kicked her all the time! She runs into things, is a little klutzy and yes has had a few shiners. If it was a case of abuse, the police would be all over it. I doubt her ex-husband would stand for that..
My daughter's first week of kindergarten she fell on the playground(on the steps of the slide) ,she had the worst black eye I have ever seen. Her black eye lasted about 3 weeks.I'm sure everyone who saw her(who didn't know us) thought I had beat the crap out of her. Oh and of course picture day was 3 days after she fell.Thank goodness for picture retakes. But the identity card I have for her, she's sporting her shiner.I made sure to hang on to the documents from the school incase anyone claimed I had abused her.People shouldn't ASSume anything.
My kid's friend had a shiner simply from trying to stand up on a barstool. She saw him, freaked and shouted, "Get down!" and down he went, only he fell and didn't have time to get his hands up. It's a wonder he didn't break his nose. Kids manage to get themselves some wild bruises from time to time. Unless someone has proof or sees a pattern of unexplained bruises, to accuse a parent of abuse is totally inappropriate.
my daughter when she was three blackened both eyes with in weeks of each other. She feel from the chair and hit her one eye then she fell a few weeks later from the curb and no she did not have any other scrapes. crap happens my daughter is so clumsy now at five that we actually walks into counters tables and walls.
That crosses the line twice.
When I was that age I got two black eyes in the space of three months. One because I pulled a blanket off my top bunk -- which was under a toy, which then fell and hit me in the face. The other was because I was laying on my stomach watching a bug, and my brother, being even younger than I and still learning his own motor skills, kicked said bug. And me.
I once took care of a toddler who would run into the coffee table every morning like clockwork, until we just moved the table to the basement. He always had a bruise on his forehead.
Kids hurt themselves constantly. It's when you see a pattern, combined with behavior indicating abuse, that we need to be watching closely.
