It was a bit difficult to watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians this week amidst all the hype about the wedding between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries in "real life," but it also provided an interesting new peek inside their relationship. To date, we haven't seen much of Humphries beyond a few grunts he's made on the show, so it was good to see him interact with Kim and her family significantly for the first time. The impression he made, however, wasn't so good.
Khloe talked about how he really irritated her the first few times she met him, asking her inappropriate questions about if Kim's ass is real, and if her marriage to Lamar was real. Khloe wasn't impressed. Then the whole crew -- minus Khloe and Lamar Odom -- headed to Bora Bora to celebrate the 20th wedding anniversary of Bruce and Kris Jenner, and the baller didn't win any points there either.
On a boat, he called out Kourtney and Scott Disick for not being affectionate with one another. Besides the fact that no one needs to see that, Kourtney was irked and observed that he was sarcastic and had no filter. Sounds like a Kardashian to me, but he came on a little too strong too fast.
While he and Kim were all lovey dovey, he didn't seem all that patient with her. When she had some weird freak-out about the gorgeous room they were staying in being too big, that seemed to (justifiably) bother him. But when he threw her in the water and she lost an earring, he didn't seem to get it. Seeing as how it was a $75,000 earring, there wasn't much to get, but he just seemed annoyed.
The episode ended with Kim storming off crying, Kris wondering how he was going to survive 10 days of this vacay, and previews of him and Scott drinking together. If we didn't know what we know now about Kim and Kris, I'd have said they looked a little doomed based on tonight's episode.
Of course, that was part one, so next week I'm sure everyone will start seeing what a wonderful guy Kris is and fall in love with him just like Kim. We know they get their happily ever after, and that the family loves him now, but it's interesting to see that they had somewhat of a rocky start. If it was all perfect and sunshine and roses from the start, then we'd know things were scripted, right?

Oh, things were probably still scripted. There is no "reality" in reality television.
And who wears $75,000 earrings to the pool??????????
I don't earn $75,000 in a year and I have a good job that directly helps people. So first, where's that pool so I can go find the earring. And second, I'm kinda giggling that she lost it. Justice....
She actually lost her earring in the ocean. I would be upset, probably not as upset as her if I lost a peice of jewlery that I liked. I think that Kourtney and Khloe are a little judgmental of Kris to be honest. Khloe almost had a nervous breakdown because her sisters weren't as excited as she thought they would be when she announced she was engaged to someone they have never met. Kourtney has no room to judge anyone. Just look at who she's with. I also think that Kim is marrying Kris because she just turned 30 and she sees everyone else married or having babies. She must think that her clock is ticking. I think they could have waited, if it's true love why would you want to rush through marriage and courtship?
She wasn't in the pool, it was the ocean. He picked her up and threw her in. The side of her face hit the water and she grabbed her ear b/c it hurt and then realized her earring was also gone. And for the one laughing b/c she lost her earring, wow, I can't even imagine being that jealous and petty. I also work in human services and I know it doesn't pay much, but it isn't Kim's fault that what she does brings in tons of money.
I just saw the episode. And I would be so annoyed at her for wearing $75,000 Earrings in the ocean in the first place! Who does that!? I would even wear my $300 ear rings in a pool much less the ocean!
