'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Recap: Kris Jenner Wants a Wedding

Scott Disick and Kourtney KardashianOh how times change ... from last season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians when Kris Jenner was threatening Scott Disick and doing anything she could to get the scumbag out of Kourtney’s life to tonight’s episode in which she tried to push them into marriage. The only thing I can hope is that she’s smarter than we think.

Perhaps it’s reverse psychology? Maybe she knows what we all know -- Scott is a creep and will never change -- and is using this as a tactic to ensure they don't get married?

Unfortunately, that’s doubtful. More likely it was just what it appeared to be -- all about Kris Jenner, as usual.

It was a bit of a change up for the show, as there are usually two simultaneous story lines going. This week it was all about Kris -- who is now an ordained pastor, thanks to an Internet course -- getting Kourtney hitched before she has another baby. All of a sudden, she decided it must happen.

Kris threw out all sorts of reasons for her desire that they marry, like it’s the "traditional way," it’s "more natural," and that not doing so "goes against God’s will." Yes, somewhere along the line, she apparently got all religious, and she was out to save Kourtney’s soul (and her own reputation) at all costs. Even after Bruce Jenner offered the best advice ever: “Don’t be a meddler,” she continued to meddle away.

Kourtney wasn’t budging. “F#$k your traditions,” she told Kris at one point.

In a heart-to-heart with Kim -- another big believer in marriage -- Kourtney talked about how her parents’ divorce makes her hesitant to wed Scott, even though she believes he has done some good work trying to change his spots.

“Until I really know that he’s 100 percent good, I don’t want to put Mason through what we went through before Mom and Dad’s divorce,” she told Kim.

As for Scott, he really wants to get married, but is too chicken to push it with Kourtney. Sorry, I have no sympathy for him and his whiny ways, and it will take a lot more for me to believe that he’s changed than seeing a few seasons of him sitting on a therapist's couch (with his shirt unbuttoned to his navel -- eww!). I say good for Kourtney for waiting before she lets him put a ring on it ... that gives him more time to show his true colors again, which he will.

In another deviation from the standard Kardashian sitcom format, there was no neat bow that tied things up in the end. Instead, Kris and Kourtney had it out (more tears from Kris, of course -- has she cried on every episode this season?), and nothing was resolved.

“You’re a control freak. You’re not controlling this,” Kourtney said as she stormed out.

Perhaps with Kim’s recent wedding news, Kris will back off of Kourtney and allow her to make her own decisions. Probably not though, as Kris seems to have a nose big enough to stick in everyone's business.

Do you think Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick should get married? Do you think Kris Jenner is out of control?
