Country singer Dolly Parton makes me happy. She always has. I can probably track my Dolly love back to when I was12 years old and found her amazing in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. She can sing like crazy and her laugh is infectious. She oozes grace and goodness and strangely enough for a woman who admits modelling her own "cosmetically enhanced" looks after the town tramp, she's beautifully self-assured and so passionate about her music.

She recently shared a crazy story about a wig mishap that only makes me love her all the more.

Parton recently shared this hilarious story with Q Magazine (via Daily Mail):

One time I was riding a bicycle with my best friend Judy Ogle and I hadn’t pinned my wig on all that well.

We went to this little grove with an overhanging tree. As I cycled under it, I saw Judy crying with laughter. I turned around and there was my hair hanging from a branch. I had to quickly turn around and snatch my hair off the tree.

The best thing about Dolly Parton is that she doesn't take herself too seriously. She can poke fun at her own "insanities" in such a charmingly real way.

Dolly Parton describes herself in the most perfect way, saying, "There`s a heart beneath the boobs and a brain beneath the wig." Indeed, Ms. Dolly, and that's why we love you so.

Are you a Dolly Parton fan?
