Kate Middleton wedding dressThe Royal Wedding festivities are moving right along. Faster than I can type! Prince William and Prince Harry headed over from Clarence House -- groom Wills in a stunning red military uniform, Harry in a navy blue Blues and Royals uniform -- and arrived at the Abbey, looking wonderfully handsome as they made formalities with all the guests.
But what about THE WEDDING DRESS?
Soon after, loads of Senior Royal family members arrive by the fancy carload.
But what about THE DRESS?
Prince Charles and wife Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles rode in together. Prince Charles is getting up there, but then again, I haven't really looked at him since his first wedding back in 1981.
But what about THE DRESS?
The Queen is wearing a YELLOW Angela Kelly dress. Awww, she's sort of cute to me today. I want to squeeze her. She gets the royal trumpet treatment upon arrival.
The children in the wedding party look adorable, girls all in white with flowers in their hair -- reminiscent of Diana's mini entourage -- and boys all in red jackets to match the groom.
Kate's sister and maid of honor Pippa Middleton is wearing an exquisitely simple white form-fitting dress with a cowl V-neck. She walks in with all the cute kids.
BUT what about THE DRESS?
Finally, THE DRESS!
Kate Middleton is wearing a gorgeous, sophisticated ivory Chantilly lace wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The gown has a V-neck, long lace sleeves, and a full skirt. The bride is also wearing a long and lovely sheer veil held on by a 1936 Cartier halo tiara, lent to her by the Queen. Her diamond drop earrings were a gift from her parents.
Her bouquet is super simple with white flowers and includes lily-of-the-valley, sweet William (awwww!), hyacinth, ivy, and sprigs from the myrtle bush that stocked Queen Victoria's bouquet a kazillion years ago. Wow!
Makeup subtle, lovely. Lips on the down low.
At the front of the Abbey, William looks at his bride Catherine Middleton and says, "You look beautiful."
Pass me the hankies ...
What's next? Oh, the marriage!!!

What is up with all the hats?!? Some of the ladies look like they have bird on their heads!!
Lovely classic regal gown... not necessarily my taste or one for the fashion archives, but SHE loves it and that's all that matters. Pippa's... oh I would have worn that down the aisle. Some other aisle, not in a royal cathedral, lol.
Also, her veil seemed a little strained over her hair, and her makeup a little hard. Experts are trying to compare her ensemble to Princess Grace, but I don't buy it.
Did anyone else notice Carole "Mum" Middleton looks like Anjelica Huston after too many years at the local pub?
My daughter commented that QEII looked like a sweet old Peep. So, yeah Lindsay, the "squeeze" thing came to a few minds.
The dress is exactly what I expected. Its very classic and modest. That and the ring are all I care about! Can you tell I worked in bridal?
Everything was so beautiful
The invites requested the women to wear hats. I thought it was interesting to see the array of "hats"
I completely agree with you, kinfisch! I was wondering about the dress as everyone kept saying that Kate was going "modern", rather than "classic." However, the dress seemed to be the perfect mix-classic and modern, the perfect fit, the perfect train, veil and tiara! I cannot get over how beautiful a bride she was! It was all SO beautiful!
i Agree The Wedding Was Beautiful
