Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan and her visit with Jay Leno on the Tonight Show is scheduled to air tonight; however, we should warn you that the audience is quite possibly filled with the same wackadoodle Americans who pay money to see loony tune Charlie Sheen -- because they gave Lohan a standing ovation when she came out to greet Jay.
And herein lies the problem with this world ...
I'll be the first to applaud Ms. Lohan for kicking her drug and alcohol habits -- if she has, indeed, kicked those habits. However, this is a woman who five seconds after leaving court-appointed, get-out-of-jail-free drug rehab at Betty Ford, where she also managed to get into some sort of physical altercation with a staffer, gets nabbed for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace. Just this past Friday, Lohan was sentenced to 120 days in jail and 480 total hours of community service for violating her probation. Of course, once again, she only served a whopping five hours in the slammer.
This kind of trouble doesn't just prey on an innocent Lindsay Lohan. She doesn't have bad luck or terrible timing. Coincidence has nothing to do with her troubles. One way or another, she brings it on herself, and she clearly isn't done yet.
Reports say she does talk about her arrest with Jay on tonight's show; however, so far we only have this snippet, in which Lindsay tells Jay:
I've made a lot of mistakes, and I recognize that. But I'm in the clear now, and I feel like as long as I stay focused, I will be able to achieve what I want to achieve.
And by "in the clear," she means "not in jail" at the moment. And by "focused," we hope she means professional, mature, clean, and sober. We also hope that standing ovation gave her the ego boost she probably needs to keep it together for awhile.

Here's to hoping Lindsay Lohan becomes someone whose life and struggles can inspire us someday. But so far, she just hasn't proven herself to be that woman yet.
Does Lindsay Lohan really deserve a standing ovation?

I think she's really pretty and a great actress. However, she does need a lot of help and support, which she doesn't seem to be getting from her friends and family. She's ruined what could have been a great career for her. Hopefully she can get the help she needs soon.
No, the world's gone mad.
I think "in the clear" to her only means she dodged yet another bullet, and feels confident she has us all fooled again. She's an addict, remember? Don't let her 40-year-old looks fool you. Good luck to her; I'll say that.
