Sometimes, like today, I want to go to my parents' house, find my college diploma, douse it with gasoline, and watch the mother burn. It's not that I didn't love college -- believe me, I did. And it's not that great opportunities haven't come from attending college -- believe me, they have. But sometimes, like today, I feel like I could have made a little bit more money if I skipped the four-year school in order to pursue fame and fortune via tanning, drinking, and fighting. You see where I'm going with this?
That's right, everybody. The cast of the Jersey Shore recently got a raise for season 4 -- of $100,000 an episode. (This post will still be here if you need to go to the bathroom to throw up.) What is going on with the world? Why am I contributing to this? And why are Ron and Sam not getting that much?
Apparently, just the "core group," which consists of Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio, are the only ones getting that much of a pay hike. What about Vinny?! Vinny's the most normal person on that show. Vinny should get a raise, too! And while I'm happy, very happy, that Ron and Sam aren't getting the pay raise either -- why does every single show seem to be about them then?
Imagine, if you will, last season of Jersey Shore without Ron and Sam. There wouldn't be a season! Every single freakin' episode was about their obnoxious relationship and their obnoxious arguing. It was all that aired! Sure, there were B stories woven throughout -- JWoww and Roger, Pauly and his stalker, Snooki being an idiot -- but Ron and Sam were Jersey Shore last season.
Clearly, the pay raise is all about popularity. Who has the most fans, who has the most Twitter followers (yes, I checked the "core group's" Twitters, and they all have the most followers), who's the most entertaining. And, okay, I agree with that, those four are definitely the most entertaining -- so, show them more, MTV! Please!
Look, I hate the notion of Jersey Shore going to Italy for season 4, but will I watch it? Of course! I seriously don't know if I can handle another minute of watching Ron and Sam, though. And I'm apparently not alone! Less Sam and Ron, more Pauly and JWoww! If they're the ones making all the money, get your use out of them!
What do you think of the cast members getting $100,000 an episode? And what do you think of Ron and Sam?
