'DWTS' Results: Wendy Williams Strong, But Not Strong Enough

Sasha Brown-Worsham

The results show for the third episode of Season 12 of DWTS was all about publicly humiliating Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. OK, I get that they needed to recap and I get that they needed to capitalize on what was the biggest flub of the evening before, but still. It was terribly embarrassing for her, so could we cut it a bit short?

We get it. He got a cramp (ouch!). But from the replay, it looks like she was too heavy for him. It isn't the greatest feeling for her, I'm sure. Luckily, there was no add-on to her humiliation. She was safe tonight as she should have been.

In the end it came down to Chris Jericho and Wendy Williams. As many of you predicted, it was Wendy who was sent packing.

My money was on Sugar Ray, but not with any degree of certainty. This season, more than any other I remember, everyone is kind of on equal footing.

In the past seasons, we have had obvious front runners like Jennifer Grey or Nicole Scherzinger or even Gilles Marini. This season, it seems like there are some surprise people who are good -- Kirstie Alley, Hines Ward, Ralph Macchio -- and then there are some people who are also almost as good just behind them. In other words, THIS is what a competition is all about.

Starting next week, it's officially going to be really hard to call who goes home. But my money is on Sugar Ray (kind of). Or maybe it will be Chris Jericho. Nevertheless, I am glad he stayed this week! Sending him home the week he danced for his mother just seems unnecessarily cruel.

What is obvious is that this season is going to be better than the show has been in almost a year, so bring it on!

Do you think this season is better than past seasons?
