I can't stand watching The View. It reminds me of when I was little, and my parents would watch The McLaughlin Group. I'd get upset and have to leave the room, because they'd always argue over one another and you couldn't distinguish who was saying what. It's stressful! But I guess the good thing about shows like that is that now and then, serious and meaningful confrontations go down. Like yesterday -- when Whoopi Goldberg went off on Donald Trump.
We all know he's a wacko. Just look at the guy. With all that money, couldn't he have gotten a better spray tan? What a joke. But now, it turns out, he's actually crazier than I initially thought. He's a Birther. Yup, not only does he think he'll make a great candidate for president next year, but it's starting to sound more and more like the first order of business on his agenda would be to ... make President Obama show us his birth certificate.
Really? Three years into Obama's presidency, crazy people are STILL talking about this? And a reality TV show host who thinks he's going to run for president, who plans to sink $600 million of his own money into the campaign, is running his big fat mouth about President Obama's legitimacy as an American citizen?
Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is why other countries think we're a joke.
Whoopi knows it. That's why when Don said, "Nobody from [Obama's] early years remembers him" and that there's "something on that birth certificate that he doesn't like," she responded:
That's a terrible thing to say ... oh my God ... that's the biggest pile of dog mess I've heard in ages. It's not 'cause he's black, is it?
Of course he denied that, but it's been clear to me -- and anyone who has a clue, it seems -- that the only reason Obama's been taken to task on his birth certificate or where he grew up or who knew him when he was little -- all of which questioning is totally nuts -- is because he's NOT white.
Has this ever happened before with a white president? No. Whoopi hit the nail on the head. I wish it wasn't, but it is a race-related issue. I guess, sadly, Trump must be drinking the racist Kool-Aid and simply can't accept a black president (like a slim majority of Republicans).
But you know what? I HOPE The Don keeps on mouthing off about it, because he's digging himself a grave right now that he's going to have a really hard time crawling out of when he actually wants to be taken seriously in the election. Actually, maybe anyone who would give him the time of day as a legit presidential candidate should have to show the results of an I.Q. test in order to vote.
Here's the clip of Whoopi and Don on The View yesterday:
Do you think Donald's crazy?
