Are you kidding me, Charlie Sheen?!
No one thinks he's some amazing actor -- he doesn't even have solid street cred as a comedian. Yet, a guy named Chuck Lorre goes out of his way to create a dumb vehicle for Charlie called Two and a Half Men and how does the Hollywood "Bad Boy" repay him? By blasting him in almost unintelligible, anti-Semitic, ranting hissy fits. You know, after Lorre has to pull the plug on Men, because Charlie's out of control.
Now, let's add this all up ... anti-Semitic rant plus addiction to alcohol and drugs plus vicious beating of wives, girlfriends, and hookers. Sounds vaguely familiar. Oh, that's right! It reminds me a lot of another whackadoo jerk named Mel Gibson ...
Back when Passion of the Christ came out, I interviewed Joan Rivers (love her!), and she had more than a few choice words for Mel. It seems that in six years, she hasn't changed her tune, and neither has most of Hollywood. GOOD. FOR. THEM. He is a disgusting, racist, anti-Semitic, alcoholic monster who threatened to kill and beat up Oksana Grigorieva. People who behave that way do not deserve to be movie stars. As far as I care, he should never be cast in a role ever again. Even though word is he's only going to be charged with misdemeanor domestic violence, I'd love to see Mel go to jail. Forever.
As for Charlie, well, plenty of what he has said and done seems to warrant time in jail, too, but the most recent ridiculousness isn't exactly a crime. He's just been mouthing off like a psychotic freak. Which I still think is reason enough for Hollywood execs to turn their backs on him.
The latest is that he claims he's going to take his business to HBO and have his own show over there. He told Radar:
I’m close to securing a deal with HBO for a 10-show guarantee. It will be epic, all types of guests, and we will focus on the truth and the absurd!
Surely, people will tune in to watch him be a trainwreck. But shame on HBO if they're really going to give this bastard the time of day. Don't we have more entertaining and less monstrous "comedians" to pay $5 million an episode? How about Seth Rogen or Zach Galifianakis or awww ... Paul Rudd!? Look, America! Guys who are ACTUALLY funny without being alcoholic, bigoted wife-beaters!! Amazing!
Do you think Charlie Sheen is turning into Mel Gibson?
