People have asked me why I don't like Glee and I have two answers: 1) people who love the show actually voluntarily refer to themselves as gleeks, which is only slightly less disgusting than calling yourself a queef; and 2) the singing.
Gah, THE SINGING.
However, I will grudgingly admit that the "Thriller"/"Heads Will Roll" mashup that will be performed on an upcoming Glee episode is fairly listenable. Possibly even sort of ... awesome.
Glee returns to the air at 10:30 p.m. EST Sunday, February 6 (right after the Super Bowl) for the first time since a Christmas episode last year. The "Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle" episode will be shown with limited commercials, and features a mashup of the Michael Jackson classic mixed in with the earwormy "Dance, dance, dance 'til you're dead" chorus from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs club hit.
Now, I'm certainly not saying the Glee version is as good as either of these original songs, and the concept isn't quite as unique as it might initially seem (the Yeah Yeah Yeahs already paid homage to "Thriller" in their video for "Heads Will Roll") ... but, well, FINE. It's catchy.
Check it out for yourself:
