Nothing and no one is off limits to British comedian and Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais, the man who in his latest HBO special did not even hesitate to make fun of and find humor in a bit about a father thinking pedophilic thoughts about his daughter. So by all rights teen star Justin Bieber should be afraid, very afraid of what Gervais might be planning to do or way when the he take the stage to announce one of the awards.
Apparently, he's so afraid of Gervais that the event organizers have arranged to have actor Zach Efron go out there with him, to help diffuse Gervais' attack.
I'm not sure having another cute guy out there with him with help matters. In fact, it will probably make things much worse. Perhaps a disguise, similar to the one he wore Friday at the Critics' Choice Awards, is a much better strategy.
Or, if he's really that wimpy worried about being made fun of, perhaps he shouldn't even go? Make up an illness or hairdo malfunction or something. It's just not worth it, especially when his handlers are going to these paranoid lengths, according to Metro UK:
"His team are not going to let [Gervais] anywhere near Justin when he is backstage. In fact it looks as if Justin will arrive at the last possible time to keep out of Ricky's way."
During last year's event, Gervais, the genius behind The Office, initially promised he would leave the most controversial jokes out of his repertoire. But in true Gervais form, that promise went right out the window, with the comedian taking jabs at everyone from Angelina Jolie, to Mel Gibson ...
"I like a drink as much as the next man ... unless the next man is Mel Gibson." ...
... to Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney! Justin, honey, you should be praying that Ricky Gervais will make fun of you tonight. Because then you'll know you've really made it.
