I am a Gemini, and I have always proudly identified with my sign and its attributes. But now, scientists say I'm not a Gemini? According to these new zodiac sign dates they've introduced, you may be reading the horoscope for the wrong astrological sign too.
It's all very scientific and has to do with the moon's gravitation pull of the earth and how things have shifted over the years, but astronomers at the Minnesota Planetarium Society say it's so. Apparently, the way the stars are really aligned mean a lot of people think they're a sign they're really not.
"This is not something that happened today. This has gone on for thousands of years," astronomer Parke Kunkle told NBC-2. "Because of this change of tilt, the Earth is really over here in effect and Sun is in a different constellation than it was 3,000 years ago."
Thanks for telling us now!
Important life decisions have been made according to horoscopes; jewelry and clothing proclaiming one's sign have been purchased. Lives have been forever altered because someone in a bar didn't like the response they heard when they asked one of the most famous pick-up lines of all time: "Hey baby, what's your sign?" They can't just go and change it!
But they have. Here are the new dates, see if yours is affected:
Capricorn: Jan. 20 – Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 – March 11
Pisces: March 11– April 18
Aries: April 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – June 21
Gemini: June 21 – July 20
Cancer: July 20 – Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10 – Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16 – Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30 – Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23 – Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 – Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 – Jan. 20
Well, I for one refuse to accept it -- science or not. The description of Gemini has always fit me accurately. Now I'm supposed to be a Taurus? I want to be a twin, not a bull! I'm an extrovert, not an introvert! Gemini is the sign of writers; the twins help explain my mood swings. And I'm going to continue to be a Gemini regardless of what anyone says. I'm stubborn like that ... which is a hallmark trait of Taurus. Hmmm ...
Does your sign change under these new dates? Are you going to start reading your new horoscope?

Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 – Dec. 17
-------------------------------
I have the NEW sign.. I prefer being a Sagitarius...
My sign has changed from Scorpio to Virgo, I will stay a Scorpio, old fashion I guess
My Question is when we go to Mars and a baby is born, what will its sign be. Our Calender is based on the number of days it takes for Earth to orbit the sun, Mars will have a different calender if dates are based on the number of days for the planet to orbit around the sun
Scorpio: Nov. 23 – Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 – Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 – Jan. 20
, Ophiuchus and some of the fixed stars in it were sometimes used by astrologers in antiquity as extra-zodiacal indicators (i.e. astrologically significant celestial phenomena lying outside of the 12-sign zodiac proper). One version of a myth states that Asclepius witnessed a snake reviving a dead snake with herbs. Zeus then killed Asclepius with a thunderbolt to prevent the knowledge from spreading, but out of honor for his life works, turned him into the constellation Ophiuchus (The Snake Holder)
I AM NOT CHANGING MY MOTHERS RING
Barely still a Virgo 9-17. My hubby went from Leo to Cancer.
I was an Aries and now I'm a Pisces. Lolz
Why is the Scorpio only three days long?
Scorpio has always fit me. Even some of the 'negative' things about Scorpio fits me. I'll think I'll just stick to being a scorpio lol.
