In the most recent Entertainment Weekly, Natalie Portman drops some wisdom that everyone always knew, but nobody wanted to admit: chick flick + lesbian scene = couple movie. I’m not saying Black Swan is a chick flick – it’s a far cry from Beaches! But if there’s a movie that you might have trouble getting your guy to go see with you, you can make a pretty convincing case for yourself by casually mentioning that there’s girl-on-girl action.
So you know about Black Swan’s lipstick-locking between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. (Pretty intense, by the way.) Just in case you’re wondering if there are others, here’s a selection you can add to your home-video library for nights when you want to fire things up without fully committing to porn ... because let's face it, guys aren't the only ones who feel seduced by sapphic scenes.
Mulholland Drive (2001)
Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring smooch it up in this David Lynch weird-fest. You might fire it up for the sex-factor, but even though the lesbian makeout scene is super-hot, the rest of the movie is so creepy and somewhat disturbing -- it might but a damper on things. It’s actually quite sad!
Wild Things (1998)
Neve Campbell and Denise Richards make out in a pool! To make it even creepier, they play high-school aged girls and there’s a rape accusation against a guidance counselor in the plot. But, you know, it’s a sex thriller that also stars Matt Dillon, so you get what you pay for.
Bound (1996)
Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly star in another thriller, this one made by the guys who later brought us The Matrix. They hired sex educator Susie Bright to make sure the lesbian love was realistic-ish, and won raves from gay and lesbian film fests as a result. But the film’s also a bit violent -- be forewarned.
The Hunger (1983)
Catherine Deneuve seduces Susan Sarandon (and is married to David Bowie!) in this vampire flick from way-back-when. “Is it a love song?” “I told you, it was sung by two women.” “It sounds like a love song.” “Then I suppose it is.” This clip cuts off just when things get moving, but … well, you get the idea.
What’s the hottest woman-on-woman makeout fest you’ve seen on screen?
