Amy Locane was once the star of 13 episodes of Melrose Place and now it looks like the drama has carried over into her real life. The beautiful blond actress has been indicted on manslaughter charges after she was involved in a fatal collision this past June.
Guess her days with Michael and his shady cover-up plans were limited. Looks like she has to face some consequences.
The indictment comes with charges of aggravated manslaughter and assault by automobile for driving while intoxicated before the crash that killed a passenger in the other car.
"I believe that the aggravated manslaughter charges are totally inappropriate and misplaced," Locane's lawyer, Blair Zwillman, tells E! News. "I believe that when all of the facts of the incident become known, Amy Locane will be acquitted. She has confidence in the criminal justice system. She is distraught about the death of Helene Seeman. Amy has two young daughters who mean everything to her."
Locane admitted to police that she had been drinking wine back in June before getting behind the wheel in the evening of June 27 when her 2007 Chevy Tahoe hit the passenger side of a 2010 Mercury Milan. The woman in the passenger seat was killed.
Locane, who lives in New Jersey, also allegedly hit another car earlier in the evening and fled the scene of that one.
If convicted, she could be facing 5 years for the automobile assault charge and up to 10 or 30 years for the manslaughter.
