A video currently making the Facebook rounds has many asking one question and one question only:
WTH??!!
It is a video promoting a Norweigian talk show Golden Times, but of course, the talk show is hardly the news. The video features a lineup of the strangest collection of celebrities ever assembled singing... Wait for it.. Wait for it... Let It Be.
These quasi celebrities (mostly has beens from 80's shows... And Tonya Harding) all stand on a beach, presumably in Norway, where they belt out the lyrics to the emotional song. So, yes, let Dolph Lundgren, Steve Guttenberg, Tonya Harding, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Jason Alexander, Benny from L.A. Law, George Wendt, Kathleen Turner, Kelly McGillis, Tubbs from Miami Vice and many, many other once-were-(kind of)-celebrities tug on your heartstrings and make you cry until you realize you are being manipulated.
Don't believe me? See for yourself:
Believe me now? Weird right?
I would love to have seen the pitch meeting for this ad:
I've got this Awesome Idea. Let's get 100 random has-beens, put them on a beach and have them sing a song that will make people cry against their will. Throw in some 80's nostalgia to really get them to FEEL it. Now ask them to watch our show. Brilliant! We can't mess this one up!
If you felt anything watching this video then they have succeeded.
So, what do you think of it?

i believe you...weird!!!!
milli vanilli ... I wonder if he was lip-sinking in this too .... kelly mcgillis hasn't aged well ... tanya harding got fat ... in fact, alot of them are overweight. This seemed like it wouldv'e been a more entertaining version of, "where are they now."
You weren't kidding! That was the most random assortment of celebrities in a music video I've ever seen. It kept getting weirder as it went on. I can't believe they got Freddie Krueger LMAO! Thanks for sharing that!
I sure felt something watching that - I think the word is "disturbed." But also a sense of admiration for the type of brain who could come up with such a surreal idea - and actually follow it through. It was like watching an actual fever dream with celebs in it I had buried in my subconscious. Thanks for not only messing with my head - but for sticking "Let it Be" in it for the rest of the day!!
That was way odd. And I was pretty sure Peter Falk was dead....
Oh, Huey, how could you do this? And Katarina!! You were so beautiful and graceful on ice, and now THIS??? Singing next to Tonya Harding? *sigh* how the mighty have fallen.
Oh, and for those of you who are reading the comments before watching the video - the trick is to watch with your sound muted. I REFUSE to have that stupid tune playing in my head all day!!
That was...an odd assortment to be sure. I think it would have been better a) with the sound muted as ponychaser suggested, and b) without the names below.
Wow!
