Billy Ray & Tish Cyrus Divorce: What's Miley Thinking?

Miley CyrusAfter 17 years of marriage, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus -- parents of Miley Cyrus -- have filed for divorce.

"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," they said in a statement. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."

When Billy Ray filed papers yesterday in a Tennessee court he cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce.

Rumors of trouble in the couple's relationship have been swirling for some time, some even indicating the source of those differences may be Miley and her career.

In the September 14 issue of The National Examiner a "tipster close to the family" spoke of their troubles:

"Tish is tired of Billy Ray not being at home. All summer, while the kids were out of school, Billy Ray wasn’t around. It was supposed to be family time, but Billy Ray was too busy with Miley. The kids missed him, too. They complain, ‘It’s Miley, Miley, Miley, all the time. What about us?’ They feel like they don’t even exist in their father and sister’s world.”

Even if that was just gossip, you've got to wonder if Miley doesn't somehow feel responsible for her parents breakup.

For years now, it's been her and her dad in the spotlight, while mom Tish has been home holding down the fort and raising four other children.

Did Billy Ray neglect Tish and her needs in his quest to push Miley to stardom?

Did they disagree over Miley's new-found sexpot image?

OR perhaps her brazen behavior as of late was sparked by drama at home?

The singing sensation has got to be asking herself the same questions ... and more.

No child should ever feel responsible for her parents' relationship woes, but few children are able to avoid those feelings of guilt either.

Best wishes to the whole clan as they work through this difficult time.

Are you surprised to learn Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus are splitting up?

Wow, way to blame the kid for the parents problems. I suppose you think it's somehow different if they are famous, it's not, they are people too. The parents probably have their own problems. Miley's bad behavior could have been the result of her parents having problems, not the other way around. And these people who are "close to the family" who give tips to tabloids are probably not close to the family at all. They could be people who happen to live on the same street who have never actually met the family. People who are actually close to their family wouldn't talk to "reporters". In fact, this whole article is nothing but dumb speculation. Besides, how Miley feels about her parents breakup is her own business and no one else's. I have been reading the stir for a while, but I'm really disappointed with this article.
