Debby Boone, the singing sweetheart of the 1970s, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show today as part of the "What Happened to the Next Big Thing?" episode along with Susan Boyle and 10-year-old Jackie Evancho.
All gave great performances, but it was Boone who made the biggest impression when she performed her classic song, "You Light up My Life."
If you saw it, chances are, you're still humming it.
Not only does Boone still sound amazing, but she looked better than ever too.
Check out her performance:
It's such a powerful timeless song, as evidenced by the fact that it still holds the title -- 33 years after its debut -- for most weeks at number one by a first-time primary female artist.
Take that, Lady Gaga!
So what's Debby been up to since then? Here are few of the things we know.
She has been married for 31 years to Gabriel Ferrer.
She has four children: Jordan, twin girls Gabrielle & Dustin, and Tessa.
She starred in the 1984 movie, Sins of the Past, along with Kim Cattrall.
Her mother-in-law was Rosemary Clooney, and Boone in 2005 recorded Reflections of Rosemary as a tribute to her.
While she recorded some country music and appeared on Broadway, her biggest success since her hit song has come from Christian music.
"I grew up going to church three times a week in my family. It's been a center of my life," she told Oprah. "I never wanted to really make a career out of doing Christian music exclusively, but I love it to my core. I love music. I love what I'm doing now."
What did you think of Debby's performance on Oprah? Are you still humming?
