17 Going On 30 -- Teen Celebs Acting Like Adults

Miley CyrusWhen I was 17, the most rebellious act that I did was get my navel pierced, and I thought I was quite the badass for that. But dang, my teen years were practically sainthood compared to kids these days (gah, I feel old having just said that).

Especially celebrities, who don't even have to sneak around to enjoy the perks of being an adult. They simply state, "I'm so-and-so," and immediately are ushered into whatever nightclubs there little teenage hearts desire.

Take for instance, Miley Cyrus. She recently got tattoo #3, and she parties in places that I didn't get to see the inside of until I was 21 years old. The 17-year-old singer and quasi-actress partied at Hollywood club Voyeur until 1:30 a.m. this weekend, even though it's strictly for a 21+ crowd.

My first question is how can a club get away with letting in underage kids? Usually it's crucial to card each and every individual that comes into a club or bar, else the establishment could lose its liquor license. My second question is, where the heck are the parents?? Seriously, one would think even mother-of-the-year Dina Lohan would have enough sense to not let her teenage daughter roam the streets of Los Angeles until the wee hours of the morning.

But before we hate on ol' Billy Ray, Miley isn't nearly as bad as the raccoon-eyed Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen. The 17-year-old has been partying since she was a young teen, 14 to be exact. And I know this because she attended a party thrown by one of my friends three years ago, drinking along with them like she'd been doing it for years (she was dating a friend of theirs at the time). She's openly discussed her sex life, at the ripe age of 17 is already "bored with men" (oh honey, you have a long way to go), and is constantly wearing provocative outfits.

So what is up with kids today? Or am I just being an old fogey?

Do you think these celebrities are acting beyond their years? Or do you think it just comes with the territory of being famous?
