Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: And the Nominees Are ...

LL Cool J
They say the ladies love him. I know I do.
It’s that time again … when classic acts are nominated to possibly join the likes of Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Tina Turner and … Louis Armstrong (?!) in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

There’s nothing like a good Hall of Fame show. They trot out the dinosaurs and then remind us why they were so awesome -- and show us that they’re nowhere near extinct after all. Plus, where else do you see Tom Petty sharing the stage with Prince, singing a George Harrison song?

So who was left out yet again (*koff* Kiss *koff*)? Who has you totally psyched (Tom Waits!)? And who do you think will be chosen?

According to a Hall of Fame representative, the final list of inductees will be released in December, and the ceremony will be broadcast on March 14, 2011. There’s no telling how many acts will make the cut -- there have been as many as 12, and as few as 5. And who’s making this grave decision? More than 500 music industry professionals, including all the previous inductees, as well as music professors, critics, and other industry representatives.

Okay, I know they don’t all get together to hash things out in one room, but what if they did? I’d pay folding money to see Grandmaster Flash arguing with John Mellencamp over the relative artistic merits of Laura Nyro.

Anyway, maybe that’s just me.

Take a look at this list and see which of these musical acts deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame -- and get your panties in a bunch over who was left out!. (Remember, an act doesn’t become eligible until it's 25 years old!) Wondering who some of the acts are? Educate yourself at the Hall of Fame’s site – Darlene Love is cooler than you think.
