Ever since the fall TV lineup was announced, I've been stressing about Tuesday nights: So much good TV, so little space on the DVR! There's Glee, of course; and Parenthood; that new show, Running Wilde, looks great; and don't forget about The Good Wife (which doesn't start until next week, but still!).
Will my DVR explode? How in the world will I cram it all in?
If you're banging your head against the wall trying to figure out your Tuesday TV game plan, check out our handy guide. The only thing you'll have to worry about is which snacks to grab during the commercial breaks ...
8 p.m. EST
Why watch? Is this a serious question? Of course, you have to watch the season premiere of everyone's favorite high school musical comedy. Season 2 is promising more tributes (Britney Spears, George Michael!); plenty of guest stars (Susan Boyle, Zac Efron!), a special NYC episode, and John Stamos. The last thing you want to do is fall behind.
9 p.m. EST
Raising Hope, FOX
Why watch? From the creator of My Name Is Earl, this show about an accidental dad who lives with his parents is being hailed as the best new sitcom of the season. Watch the premiere tonight so you can rag on it tomorrow if it doesn't live up to all the hype.
9:30 p.m. EST
Running Wilde, FOX
Why watch? Let me count the reasons: Namely, it's by the producers of Arrested Development and stars an Arrested Development actor (Will Arnett) and the always-charming Keri Russell. Critics are already loving hating on it -- better see for yourself when it starts tonight.
Flip Back and Forth
Why flip? You already watched two hours of it last night, right? Don't clog your DVR with this show, especially when it's just as easy to catch most of the dances in between Glee commercial breaks. Plus, you can always read our DWTS recaps in the a.m.
Set the DVR:
8 p.m. EST
Why wait? You've been waiting to resolve that cliffhanger all summer, so what's a few more hours -- as long as you can resist reading any spoilers. Ditto for NCIS: Los Angeles, which comes on at 9 p.m.
10 p.m. EST
Why wait? Technically, this excellent show started last week, but don't worry. That's the thing about this excellent albeit slow-moving show: It doesn't matter when you tune in, you'll catch up in no time.
The Biggest Loser, NBC
Why the hate? Not another season! If you've seen one, you've seen 'em all. Time to switch up your same-old TV routine. Your DVR space is all-too valuable tonight. And if you're really broken up about it, you can read our Biggest Loser recap tomorrow in Healthy Living.
What are you watching tonight?
