Saturday Night Live will open its 36th season with SNL alum (and new mom) Amy Poehler as host -- and Katy Perry as musical guest.
That's good news for Poehler fans since they won't get a glimpse of her in Parks and Recreation until at least mid-season (it's been bumped for now from NBC's Thursday night lineup).
Katy Perry alluded to her appearance on the show via Twitter even before it was officially announced.
"Dear Amy Poehler can I please be your braced faced neighbor friend that hangs out with you & RICKKKKK!" @katyperry
Later, Perry tweeted: "OKAY! My BIG surprise is I'm opening the season of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on Sept 25 W/SNL Alum Amy Poehler!!!"
So who'll be joining Amy and Katy live on Saturday Night , September 25?
The new SNL cast includes Taran Killam (Mad TV); Chicago comedians Paul Brittain and Vanessa Bayer; and impressionist Jay Pharoah.
In addition to Will Forte, who announced he's outta there, Jenny Slate (who accidentally dropped the F-bomb on the SNL premiere last season) won't be returning to the show.
What do you think of the choice of host and musical guest? Will you be watching?
