Paris Hilton woke up to a strange man at her house this morning, and while that's probably not an entirely uncommon occurrence in Hilton's life, this time was a little scarier than usual.

Around 6:30 this morning, someone tried to break into Hilton's Sherman Oaks house, waking her up as he banged on her windows.  
Paris told police she spotted him on her surveillance cameras before activating her alarm system and calling 911.

Once the police arrived, she jumped on Twitter to post a photo of the officers arresting the guy, along with the following commentary:
So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes.
Far be it from me to criticize someone's grammar in the midst of such a terrifying scenario, but . . . um, it's knives, Paris. Unless he was also pounding on your window with his hoofs. 

In all seriousness, this certainly sounds like a creepy experience, knifes and all. TMZ's reporting that the man arrested on the scene is 31-year-old Nathan Lee Parada, and that he's being held on $50,000 bail. Law enforcement sources say the suspect's mother had reported him missing from a suburb east of L.A., which adds an extra unhappy element to the whole story. Man, what went so wrong in this guy's life that he ended up disappearing from home, and breaking into a gated celebrity community in order to flail away on Paris Hilton's house? Let's hope he gets the help (and meds) he needs.

At the end of the ordeal, news helicopters captured an image of the traumatized Hilton sitting out on her balcony. Wearing a towel. And, apparently, nothing else.

Hey, you keep being you, Paris. Don't let a little thing like armed breaking and entering keep you down.
