It was the moment we've all been waiting for: The final showdown between Caroline Manzo and Danielle Staub on the finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
It wasn't worth the wait.
It was a lot of build-up and a lot of talk as Danielle went in with gun-packing bodyguards and Caroline's eyes were blazing red before they even sat down.
Then we heard what we've heard the rest of the season ... again.
Caroline tried to convince Danielle to drop charges against Ashley, which Danielle had no thoughts of entertaining. Of course.
Through her blood-red eyes (they were startlingly red), Caroline tried to appear calm and rational, while Danielle tried to insert all her well-rehearsed lines into the conversation ... not so successfully.
There was more "I don't stand alone; I stand with my family" from Caroline.
While Danielle kept retreating to her "You're not no matriarch of MY family" line.
There was also a lot of back and and forth "really?" "really!" "really?" and such nonsense before Caroline retreated to her favorite line and called Danielle "garbage" again.
She did come up with a new one when she called Danielle a "clown."
"Your whole life is a joke," she told her.
In one of Danielle's lamest retort attempts (there were plenty), she tried to say Caroline was the clown because she had red hair. Some quick thinking there, Danielle.
Another of my favorite retorts from Danielle that was just for the cameras:
"And here's a little message for Teresa: 'My kids wore lace and crinoline at those ages. My dogs wore leopard.'"
Ouch?
In the end, Danielle storms out, Caroline proclaims Danielle vacant and soulless, and the war is done.
And that's it. A very anticlimactic ending for a such a drama-filled season. No tables thrown; no guns drawn; no hair pulled. Kind of a letdown.
Of course, there's always the reunion shows, which look a lot more interesting from the sneak peek.
And while reports say that she hasn't been asked back for the next season of Housewives, I'm not so convinced this is the last we're going to see of Danielle Staub on the show.
I just don't think Bravo is going to let something so good (for ratings at least) go that easily, and what are we supposed to watch the other New Jersey Housewives do if not fight with her?
Were you underwhelmed by the season finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey?

Danielle ~ what more can one say about this piece of work ? Yes, her voice, mannerism, narcissism, 'never being wrong & never having to take responsibility for her actions or words', the stirring up of drama and discord amongst all is too much to digest ~ and yet she stands tall in her nice body, which takes away from all with the chiseled face from too much bo-tox etc and false hair and blank stare ~ just too toxic to watch ~ As others she is not a good example for her beautiful girls ~ too bad....
Teresa ~ money cannot buy you class ~ and no matter how much she and Joe acquire or how much she displays with her surroundings etc....she is still is low class in actions ~
Caroline ~ she is ok and understandable with her position & protection re her family ~ she is strong and opinionated, but yet has a good heart ~
Jacqueline ~ didn't particularly care for the way she commenced acting towards the end of the show...which is the real Jacqueline...the sweet one or the 'out of control one' ` seems a little bit of Teresa has rubbed off...pity~
Dina ~ the classiest one of all ~ and admirable the way she stuck to her convictions in a lady like manner and departed in the same way for good reasons. Kudos Dina !
