Ideally, our choice of college major should not only reflect our strengths and talent but also prepare us for our dream jobs in the real world.
In the case of these 10 celebrities, however, their area of study has nothing to do with their current profession. (Then again, is there any major that could prepare you to be a reality TV star?) Yet, they seem to be doing pretty well.
Check out which top-earning A-List celebrities had the oddest college majors. It might be worth following in their footsteps ...
Kourtney Kardashian majored in Theater Arts and minored in Spanish at the University of Arizona. Come to think of it -- both probably helped during filming of Khloe & Kourtney Take Miami.
Mad Men's dashing Jon Hamm may have been an English major, but he got a theater scholarship and starred in several plays.
Lady Gaga majored in Performance Art when she attended New York University's Tisch School of Arts, right? Wrong. She was a Music major.
James Franco got his undergraduate degree in English from UCLA -- and apparently liked the subject matter so much that he's reportedly completing a Ph.D. at Yale.
Tiger Woods studied Economics at Stanford University but didn't finish his degree.
Gwyneth Paltrow's degree from the University of California-Santa Barbara is in Art History -- no wonder she has such an eye for design on GOOP.
Emma Watson is studying Literature at Brown University, which admittedly is somewhat appropriate given that she's no stranger to great literature.
Natalie Portman studied Psychology at Harvard University, an unusual though not inappropriate degree for such a talented actor. Likely she drew on what she had learned when filming the new chilling psychological thriller, Black Swan.
Jennifer Garner majored in Chemistry at Denison University (who knew she was so cerebral?).
And the award for the oddest celebrity college major goes to Julia Roberts, who studied Veterinary Studies at the University of Georgia.
