Cop Without A BadgeWhen you have past like the one that Danielle Staub has (prostitute, drug dealer, kidnapper) the first step would probably be to not go on a reality TV show that gets as much publicity as The Real Housewives of New Jersey does. Even if you changed your name, all your dirty laundry is sure to surface ... and like clockwork, it did.

So when Cop Without a Badge, aka "The Book," made it's appearance last summer on the show, it appropriately caused quite the stir.

It's the tell-all book of Staub and her ex-husband's crime time, having been confirmed for it's authenticity by Smoking Gun. Unfortunately for Housewives fans, Danielle only plays a minor role, being in about 17 of the 300 pages, and is seemingly just in the "wrong place at the wrong time," which lends her to be the more "sympathetic" character. How that's possible for Danielle, I have no idea.

The book was such a huge hit that it's actually in the works of becoming a TV series. “Nothing is ever a done deal until the ink is dry on the contract, but there’s such a tremendous amount of interest that I think it’s as close as you can come to saying it’s a done deal,” says author Charles Kipps.

If everything goes accordingly and it's picked up by a network, we can hope to see this as early as Fall 2011.

I wonder who would play her character? I could totally see her auditioning for the role of herself -- that'd totally be something that she would do.
