Clash of the TitansWhen you can’t get out, you need to know what to watch when you stay in. That’s why we bring you the latest and greatest new DVD releases.

Clash of the Titans ($16.99 at Amazon)
Release the Kraken! This was a remake of an ‘80s cult classic, and boy is it silly. It’s an insane mashup of Greek myths starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, and some crazy-ass special effects. Having a family movie night? This just might fit the bill.

Repo Men ($17.99 at Amazon)
Speaking of ‘80s cult classics ... nah, I’m just kidding, this has nothing to do with the Emilio Estevez movie. It actually looks like a bit of a stinker, with a gross plot about guys who repossess expensive artificial organs. Gross. But! It stars Jude Law, Liev Schreiber, and Forest Whitaker, and some reviewers find it thrilling and entertaining.

Operation: Endgame ($15.49 at Amazon)
Nobody can agree on this indie shoot-em-up! It stars comedians Zach Galifianakis and Rob Corddry, so I’m guessing it was supposed to be a quirky comedy that somehow got marketed wrong. The New York Times calls it “a foul-mouthed spoof of secret-agent silliness.” Up to you.

Greenberg ($19.99 at Amazon)
This came out on July 13, but I wanted to give you the heads-up anyway, because it’s from Noah Baumbach, who brought us The Squid and the Whale. Starring Ben Stiller, it’s the story of a neurotic, anxious guy having a life crisis in LA. It can be cringey and difficult, but also really perceptive and thought-provoking. In other words, it’s so not for everyone, but it really might be for you.

The Greatest ($13.49 at Amazon)
This also was released a couple weeks ago, but it apparently took Sundance by storm, so I didn’t want you to miss it. A heartfelt drama starring Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon, it centers around a happy couple whose teen son is killed in a car accident. When they find his young girlfriend is carrying his baby, a delicate journey toward hope begins. Me, I can’t watch anything where a kid gets killed, but it really just sounds like such a great movie if you can handle it!

Look Around You ($17.99 at Amazon)
This just looks hilarious. A British TV series that spoofs educational shows from the ‘70s, it stars the guy in the shower from Shaun of the Dead. So: Are you a nerd like me? Then yes. Does Monty Python leave you cold? Then no. Nuff said?
