The hunt for Simon Cowell's replacement on American Idol is still underway, but they at least now have a front runner. Determined to get a well-known music industry figure on the judging panel, Fox seems to be leaning towards Chris Isaak.
Okay, I've heard of him, but I guarantee the major demographic that watches American Idol (i.e., teenagers) hasn't, considering his last hit was like in 1989.
The crooner, best known for his single "Wicked Games," would join the remaining judges Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi if he's selected. And unless he has some kind of crazy personality, which includes making young hopefuls cry, I don't foresee next season of American Idol being anything more than a big fat fail.
The other person that is reportedly in the running is Harry Connick, Jr., who I feel would at least be a better choice than Chris, though I don't think he'd rise up to the standards Cowell set either. Or maybe I just liked Simon because he was brutally honest and want to see his replacement be equally so.
Do you think Chris Isaak would be a good choice for American Idol? Who would you like to see take the job?
