Internet rumors claim Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have begun filming a reality TV series with their daughter, Suri. But I'm calling BS on this absurd celebrity gossip.
And here are three reasons why:
First, love her or hate her, you have to agree that Katie Holmes is waaaay too classy for reality TV. (Tom? Well, that's a different story.) Reality shows cast people who either want to be famous or used to be famous -- but never those who fall somewhere in between. Until Katie has a substance abuse problem, releases a sex tape, or has too many kids, I don't think we'll be seeing her in a reality series.
Also, the rumors report that Tom and Katie want the reality show to prove to the world that they are a "normal" family. A source stated:
"They want to portray themselves as a normal family who do normal things. They are aware that Katie is being perceived as 'brainwashed' and they want to change that."
This is perhaps the most laughable quote of all time -- since when has Tom Cruise ever cared about his image (cue memory of Oprah couch-jumping incident)? And how in the world could Tom-Kat ever be considered "normal"? If the Hollywood couple ever does get a TV show, it would be a complete misnomer to call it "reality."
Finally, the Cruises are too private to have a tell-all reality show. Sure, Katie and Suri are in the magazines a lot -- but usually just for their fashion. I find it hard to believe these camera-shy folks would let us into their home ...
Although, how cool would it be if they actually did!?
Would you watch a reality show with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?
