While Christine Baranski usually plays women with an edge, she has a soft spot for her daughter, who just got into law school. Clearly not following in her mother's footsteps, in real life anyway.
Perhaps she was inspired by Baranski's Emmy-nominated role on The Good Wife as lawyer with attitude Diane Lockhart?
But Baranski isn't sitting on her Emmy laurels -- she was on The View today to talk about her many Broadway projects that seem like a perfect fit for the comedic actress.
I'll never forget Baranski in The Bird Cage and I love that she went back to her theatrical roots in 2008 as a stage-stealing housekeeper in the Tony award-winning play Boeing-Boeing. Baranski is reprising her film role in Mamma Mia! on stage, proving you can't take Baranski far from the Great White Way.
Still, I'd love to see Baranski in more lead roles, instead of playing BFF to Cybill Shepherd (remember that show?) and Meryl Streep. Maybe a Mary Tyler Moore-esque newsroom drama with a boozy old-school reporter that just happens to be a lady? You heard it here first.
