When I was listening to the Mel Gibson tapes, first off, I obviously felt horror and immediate sympathy for his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, but as I continued to listen, wincing as the most awful curse words known to man were yelled, I thought, "How the heck is she so calm?"
According to a recent TMZ report, it may be because the tapes were altered.
Mel's lawyers plan to present "concrete forensic evidence " of tampering with the tapes, including editing. Which means that the L.A. County Sheriff's Department will have to authenticate the tapes before the trial can continue.
If the tapes are found to be tampered with in any way, they cannot be used against him in the court of law.
Which sucks for her because, even if they were edited, that's clearly Mel ranting. I'm thinking she may have edited her responses to make herself seem more like the victim (which she obviously is, editing or no editing) -- who can stay that calm while they're being called a whore multiple times? Unless she's just that used to it, and if that's the case, that's just incredibly sad.
If you managed to listen to the tapes, what do you think? Do they sound as if they were edited to you?
