Now that's a proposal! Friday night, musician Carlos Santana, 62, proposed on stage during a concert in Illinois to his drummer Cindy Blackman, 50, while the crowd cheered on the happy couple.
"Cindy and I are blessed to have found each other," Santana told MTV News. "Being in love is a gift from the universe, and the spirit and vibrations that come with it are infinitely powerful. I look forward to expressing that incredible energy through my music, and in helping to tip the balance toward more love in the world with what Cindy and I share."
He did it right after her drum solo in in the song “Corazon Espinado." She said yes, and they kissed.
I'm a sucker for those public, grand proposals. And to be up on a stage, with a rock star, in front of adoring fans ... that's the kind of proposal I dreamed of as a little girl.
My husband, however, isn't a rock star nor one for grand public gestures. He asked me to marry him in my parents' living room in Nebraska when no one was home. It was very sweet, and when it came down to it, I didn't care how he asked, I was just glad he did.
But I'm glad someone got to live my dream proposal. Congratulations Carlos and Cindy!
