In another extremely open interview (really, I think Alec Baldwin treats interviews as his personal therapy sessions), Alec Baldwin says he's leaving 30 Rock when his contract is up in 2012.
I don't know how 30 Rock can go on without Jack Donaghy, but this isn't the first time Baldwin has mused about getting out of the business. We almost lost him post-yelling at his daughter via voicemail, when it seemed he was having a reflective period. So I can't help but wonder if he isn't just verbalizing his innermost thoughts and fears rather than making actual decisions.
Now Baldwin says he has a short amount of time left, and he's not going to spend it being an actor. He also sadly spoke about his failure as a film actor. Which, hello, Glengarry Glen Ross?
Regardless, I'm not sure what the point is of going on CNN and talking about your plan waaaay in advance. Sympathy? A juicy film role that will land Baldwin an Oscar? Trying to drive Liz Lemon nuts?
And we always thought Tracy Jordan was the diva on TGS.
