Goodbye hot pants and high heels. The new Wonder Woman is getting a hipper, more sensible outfit after all these years that includes leggings and a jacket
“She’s been locked into pretty much the exact same outfit since her debut in 1941,” said J. Michael Straczynski, the new writer of the comic. “If you’re going to make a statement about bringing Wonder Woman into the 21st century, you need to be bold and you need to make it visual. I wanted to toughen her up, and give her a modern sensibility.”
“What woman only wears only one outfit for 60-plus years?” he added.
Indeed, but did you have to go with leggings? Hasn't Lindsay Lohan worn that fad out yet?
Lynda Carter, who is Wonder Woman in most people's minds after playing the superhero on television, is a fan of the new duds.
"I think it will take time for people to get over not seeing a lot of leg," Carter told ABC. "[But] I think it's going to be very sexy and it's new and I love the little cap sleeve. You know, she's a hip girl."
I'm all for hip, but it's just not very super hero-ish, is it? Sure, it looks more comfortable and functional, but if you're a superhero shouldn't you be able to do it all while still sporting the heels and some real pants?
Might as well just give her some pajama bottoms and Uggs ...
What about you? Do you like Wonder Woman's new outfit?
