Chris Brown Cries, El DeBarge Returns at BET Awards

Alicia KeysThough Chris Brown's tearful Michael Jackson tribute performance last night at the BET Awards may be what everyone is dishing about at the office water cooler this morning, there were plenty of other gossip-worthy moments.

Kanye West started things off with "Power" and a ginormous gold chain; I was shocked (and slightly disappointed) to see that it did not cause him to topple over. Queen Latifah needs to stop trying to be funny ... not just on hosting this awards show but in pop culture all together (if you've seen Just Wright, you know what I'm talking about).

Alicia Keys looked breathtaking as always with her adorable baby bump as she performed a tribute to Prince. Only she could pull off being preggers and climbing on a piano. Prince accepted his Lifetime Achievement Award in what appeared to be a kimono with an anime character of himself on it. Why is no one else talking about this? Oh, because it's Prince.

El DeBarge performed the old-school hit "Rhythm of the Night," which instantly took me back to the 1980s, though I wasn't nearly as thrilled with his new single "Second Chance." P. Diddy (or whatever his name is these days) performed a medley of "O Let's Do It" featuring Rick Ross, followed by "Hello, Good Morning" featuring Dirty Money and T.I. while hiding behind a cloud of smoke for the first half of it. I'm still seeing spots from those damn lights.

Check out the night's winners here.
