I'm no fan of Chris Brown fan; in fact, I'm whatever the opposite of fan it is when it comes to him. But last night when he broke down during the 2010 BET Awards while performing a Michael Jackson tribute, I felt for him.
He did the King of Pop proud when it came to his performance, and perhaps he felt the words hitting too close to home when he started to sing "Man in the Mirror"?
Of course, given his past, people are questioning if the emotion was genuine or not. Personally, I think it looked real, so I guess I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
I think?
In other BET Awards news ... a noticeably pregnant and radiant Alicia Keys gave an amazing performance and took home two awards: One for Best Female R&B Artist and another for Best Collaboration on "Empire State of Mind" with Jay Z, who wasn't in attendance.
One of my other favorite performances of the night came from Eminem. With a gospel choir behind him he sang "Not Afraid".
Prince was honored with a BET Lifetime Achievement Award.
"I'm just so thankful to be a part of this world of music," Prince said. "Thanks for a wonderful night. I'll never forget it as long as I live."
Did you watch the BET Awards? Do you think Chris Brown's emotions were genuine?

He is a slime, and I would not put it past him at all to totally fake something like that!!!
Chris Brown's performance was amazing! His breakdown was heartfelt and genuine. Many of still grieve for Micheal Jackson.
@ coffeeplease316, Chris Brown is not slime, he is human! He made a mistake, he apoligized for his mistake, and he has a right to be forgiven just like anyone else who make mistakes. I'm glad he performed an amazing tribute to Michael Jackson. I hope Chris Brown is as successful as Michael.
The tears were real! The men who have history get a pass, but Chris Brown gets treated worse than a Murderer.

Chris Brown's performance was just that. He is crying for his career back. There is so many kids out there with talent Chris Brown was one of the lucky ones that got a break.. The business he is in one strike your out. Hitting a woman--hitting a famous woman--thats how he thanks his fans, manager etc..Nope, its time to move on to the next talented person and hope the new talent is smart enough to appreciate it. Chris Brown is DONE.. Maybe he should take up boxing seems he likes to hit , this time I hope he boxes with someone his own size and gender. LOSER
