There's a reason the footage on Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City The Lost Footage was lost -- because it wasn't all that interesting.
But it was, for this season at least, our last glimpse at the ladies who have kept us so entertained and exhausted by their antics over the past few months.
With the New York cast of characters, one could never go so far as to call it boring, but the "Lost Footage" episode certainly wasn't anything remarkable either. And I found it jarring to see all the scenes jumping through time with little setup or explanation. It could have benefited from both.
Hands down, the best moment was a scene that was filmed before the whole "scary island" trip. Kelly Bensimon, in an incredible example of foreshadowing, tells Alex McCord she's nervous about the upcoming trip to St. John's.
"Everyone is unpredictable, and I'm so normal," Kelly says ... in all seriousness.
In other footage, Jill Zarin gets a fancy watch, and Ramona Singer gets a procedure on her armpits for her perspiration problem.
Sonja Morgan is shown recovering from her liposuction removal procedure. Kelly goes to visit Sonja and tells her she's worried about how she's going to tell her daughter, "Your mommy is too lazy and she doesn't want to work out so I got liposuction."
Sonja describes Kelly as a Labrador, "beautiful and always happy." Not a bad analogy ...
I'll spare you the rest of the blow-by-blow because it's nothing that will blow you away.
But besides the fact that it felt like a way too overdrawn-out ending -- with the three-part reunion AND the lost footage episode -- I have to say I'm going to miss the New York ladies and can't wait to see what happens next with all of them.
