This has been a big week for Cyndi Lauper! On Tuesday, Cyndi celebrated her 57th birthday and also the release of her new album Memphis Blues.

Always full of surprises and fresh ideas, Cyndi did a blues record and she had some of the greats to help her out like B.B. King and Jonny Lang. Check out a sneak peek of a single from the new record titled "Just Your Fool":

Doesn't she sound amazing? Cyndi is not the only one with blues on her mind. Blues fans will be thrilled to know that Sheryl Crow is set to release her new record 100 Miles From Memphis on July 20, 2010.

Sheryl grew up in Missouri, literally 100 miles from Memphis. "The timing of it was perfect," she says on Billboard.com. "I was a kid that grew up listening to the radio; we'd tune the transistors to pick up the Memphis stations."

Her new release is a mix of her original music and covers. In fact, Justin Timberlake, a Memphis native, makes a surprise appearance on an Al Green-styled rendition of Terence Trent D'Arby's "Sign Your Name."

Although they may have shared the same inspiration, I think these two super-talented artists have very different styles and I can't wait to listen to both of these records!

Are you a blues fan? What do you think of Cyndi's new sound and Sheryl's record?
